Mission Statement

Our mission is to enable older adults to continue living joyfully in their homes and community as they age, by providing mobility, practical assistance, easy access to services, social connections and educational opportunities. We are a non-profit, membership-based organization of neighbors helping neighbors for an improved quality of life. We are fueled by volunteers who enable healthier aging for our members and peace of mind for their families.

Description

Villages are part of the nationwide Village Movement and consist of community-based, nonprofit, grassroots organizations formed through a cadre of caring neighbors who want to change the paradigm of aging.

Foster City Village is the first Village established on the Bay Area Peninsula, following the lead of Beacon Hill Village, founded by a group of older neighbors in Boston in 2001. Those neighbors created a way to continue living vibrant and healthy lives in their homes and communities, even as they aged and gradually needed more support services.
