of food, housing and financial assistance
to achieve well-being, stability and self-sufficiency.
We are excited about our new program, LARS On Go, where we will be delivering healthy, low sodium, low sugar grocery bags to senior citizens in our community on the 4th Thursday of each month. For this month, it will be on Thursday, May 23rd from 1-3:30pm. If you can spare a few hours to help this Thursday, please reply to this email, and I will get you started.
Here’s how the process will work:
- 1:00 PM: Arrive at LARS to load up your car with groceries.
- 2:00-3:30 PM: Deliver groceries with our staff to senior citizens in the community.
We are looking for groups of 2-5 people to help with this project once a month between 1-3:30pm. The next date after this month will be Thursday, June 27th. This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, so feel free to share this with friends, family, or community members who might be interested.
We are happy to provide community service hours for school or any other needs in return for this volunteer service. All student’s underage of 18, must be accompanied by guardian or parent during volunteer activities, for additional information, please ask me.

Description
LARS is a non-profit serving homeless and low-income families and individuals in Laurel, MD. Today LARS is staffed by trained social workers and continues to receive support from its founding faith-based partners.
