  • Expected to put in 5 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours..
  • STW(tm) welcomes volunteers who are seeking skill-based volunteering opportunity. STW(tm) shall provide "letter of recommendation" professionals who demonstrate outstanding contribution for professional references.

SUMMARY:

Support the publishing group by reviewing pending posts on WordPress, applying SEO as necessary, and scheduling posts for publishing.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Log on To WordPress and review pending posts, checking meta descriptions, titles, focus keywords, meta keywords, tags, categories, and excerpts, and editing as necessary.
  • Ensure that SEO is good, getting each post as close to "green" as possible.
  • Conduct keyword research for STW website content before the article is published.
  • Offer weekly advice/workshops to publishers to continue improving SEO quality and streamlining the publishing process.
  • Report to the Project Leader for the given project team.
  • Attend the Publishing group’s monthly meeting.
  • Complete the PWR at least on a weekly minimum basis.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of SEO experience as well as demonstrated ability to stay current with SEO trends and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience (6 months to 1 year full-time paid corporate/non-profit work experience).
  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous, and professional manner when dealing with the public.
  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside the department.
