Mission Statement

Empowering children with disabilities to express their creativity and imagination through AI-generated art, turning their ideas into cherished products that bring joy to them and their loved ones.

Description

DreamMugs was founded at the start of the year in 2024, after seeing the amazing impact AI image generation was able to have with my daughter, who has Down syndrome. As she shared her creations with our families over the holidays, her face beamed with pride and joy as she shared her creations with her loved ones, showcasing her boundless creativity and imagination despite her communication challenges. Our aim is to replicate this experience with families of children with disabilities across the world, starting locally in Northern Virginia.

We had a successful Pilot Program with a local elementary school, supporting 8 special education classrooms, 36 special education students (our Dreamers), creating over 770 AI-generated images, 72 of which were selected as Dreams sent to our Dreamers based of their imaginings. Each student received a sticker of each dream, and additional orders were placed for coffee mugs, t-shirts, stickers, magnets, and ornaments.

Our next step is to get volunteers involved to help create these dreams or even to run their own School Fundraiser programs with their local elementary schools. 10% of the sales in the School Fundraiser programs go back to the hosting school for use with their Special Education classrooms and programs.
