Volunteering for the setup and/or breakdown of tents, tables, and chairs at the Rocky Butte Farmers Market is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and being hands-on. As a volunteer in this role, you will be responsible for the heavy lifting and arranging of equipment to create a welcoming and functional market space. With the market manager's direction, this will involve assembling and disassembling tents, setting up tables and chairs, and ensuring they are arranged appropriately. Closed-toe shoes are a requirement for safety during these tasks. By offering your strength and attention to detail, you will play a significant part in the overall success and smooth operation of the farmers market.

This opportunity requires heavy lifting and is done completely outdoors, rain or shine!

Established in 2019, Rocky Butte Farmers Market's (RBFM) mission is to provide NE Portland, Oregon residents with access to affordable, seasonal, locally grown foods and artisan products with a primary goal of lowering barriers to market participation for beginning and under-represented vendors. RBFM exists to strengthen connections within our diverse community by providing a safe, welcoming, fun, educational, and inclusive community gathering space.

Description

Rocky Butte Farmers Market has its roots in volunteerism. Entirely volunteer-created and majority volunteer-run, RBFM is grateful for the hard work of volunteers. We are a determined and friendly group of neighbors working towards increased food access in our community.
