Team Leader - Unload Food Delivery Truck
ORGANIZATION: OSSINING FOOD PANTRY
Please visit the new page to apply.
Every Friday morning, the Feeding Westchester delivery of purchased foods arrives and is unloaded into the storage facility by volunteers. This program runs from approximately 8:30 to 10:30 am, but is dependent upon the actual arrival time of the delivery truck.
We are looking for a volunteer to partner with the current Team Leader to provide additional support and back up, as needed.
Team Leader responsibilities include:
- Be in contact with the Feeding Westchester warehouse coordinator to monitor the arrival time of the delivery truck.
- Contact volunteers for anticipated arrival of delivery truck and meet time.
- Provide access to the facility for the volunteers.
- Assess the storage space available to direct volunteers in real time where to store new cartons and boxes of food.
- Oversee the work of over 10+ volunteers.
- Assist with unloading of food as needed
- Facilitate tidying up at programs’ end to then close and lock up the facility.
- Supervise and provide attestation of service hours for community service volunteers.
Team Leaders should have good communication skills, patience, and must be willing to learn all areas of the Friday program.
