Spiritual Care Volunteers will work with our hospice chaplain to provide support to
our hospice patients. This may include reading scripture or other faith-based literature,
singing, praying, etc. Most often this support would be offered in person, but the visits
could be effective by phone.

Description

OhioHealth Hospice in Athens program Athens, Hocking, Meigs, and Vinton Counties in Ohio. Hospice offers nurses, home care aides, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and volunteers to make the final months of the terminally ill as comfortable, as pain-free, and as fulfilling as possible.

Volunteers are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Hospice Team and are treated and trained as unpaid employees. We have a volunteer coordinator who oversees and nurtures our volunteer program.
