ORGANIZATION: Achieve Pinal Experience Corps

ACHIEVE Pinal Experience Corps Reading Program is an intergenerational program serving the Pinal County area of Arizona. Senior volunteers (aged 45 and older) help elementary students (k-3) improve their reading skills by tutoring them one on one.

Schedules vary depending on schools.

In-Person (Pinal County, AZ)
Virtual (Anywhere in U.S.)

We are seeking volunteers to join us in a substitute position, to help support reading tutors. You sign up, get trained and join the substitute list. Availability will be put out via email, and you choose when to volunteer based on your availability.

Description

Achieve Pinal Experience Corps (APEC) an affiliate of AARP Foundation is an intergenerational, evidence-based literacy program designed to help students become proficient readers by the end of third grade. Using Reading A-Z level books our trained volunteers work one on one with students on building fluency, accuracy, and comprehension skills two days a week for the entire school year. The Achieve Pinal Experience Corps reading program partners with elementary schools throughout Pinal County.
