Sunrise Village Homeless Shelter is an emergency and transitional shelter for individuals and families with children. We provide those in need with a safe harbor where they can move to the next stage of their life. Services provided include but are not limited to, emergency shelter, job counseling, resource support, and meal service throughout their stay. At any given time, Sunrise Village can serve 66 residents between the family and single side.

Shifts can vary between 2-3 hours long with standard time slots for lunch and dinner during the week. Sunrise Village is located at 588 Brown Rd. Fremont, CA 94539. Volunteer groups can provide their own ingredients, order catered meals, and/or use Sunrise Village supplies to cook meals. Meal services are fully operated by volunteer groups 7 days a week.

All volunteers must show proof of vaccination to volunteer.

Duties:

Kitchen Volunteers will help prepare food, serve meals to residents, and help clean up after meal service.

Skills Needed:

• Have a passion for serving and an interest in food.
• Ability to multi-task and work as a team to complete service.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive personality and demeanor.
• Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not required.

• Lunch is served 11:45am -12:15pm and your group can arrive as early as 10am
