Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writing and Research Intern/Volunteer to join our team remotely. This role is crucial for securing the funding needed to support our educational programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, experience in grant writing and research, and a passion for education and community development.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Writing:

  • Assist in writing and editing grant proposals, ensuring they align with the requirements and priorities of the funding organizations.
  • Develop compelling narratives that effectively communicate the organization's mission, goals, and project needs.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals.

Research:

  • Conduct research to identify potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Gather and analyze data to support grant applications and organizational projects.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in grant writing and funding.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and rejections.
  • Help prepare progress reports for funded projects to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions regarding fundraising and project development.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master’s program in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish proficiency is a plus).
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising is a plus, but not required.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Escuela Adelante.
