Mission Statement

Parma Animal Shelter Inc is an all-volunteer not-for-profit organized for the purpose of preventing abuse, cruelty and neglect of companion animals., educating the public about the importance of spay/neuter, increasing appreciation and understanding of companion animals, reuniting lost pets with their owners, and providing a healthy environment, medical care and ultimately permanent placement in loving homes for lost, abandoned and neglected pets within the City of Parma, Ohio.

Description

The Parma Animal Shelter is run by volunteers for the stray and abandoned animals of the City of Parma. Volunteers dedicate their time to tasks such as walking the dogs, cleaning the shelter, cleaning cages for the dogs and cats, feeding the animals, and giving them love. We also have volunteers that foster some of our animals in their home. We cannot accommodate short-term or community service. Applications must be submitted from our website www.parmashelter.org

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 21
  • Grant Writing can take several hours depending upon the experience of the person volunteering.
  • Communication with the Board of Trustees is key. This volunteer must have a proven success with grant writing and willing to work from home. The Secretary will provide all documentation needed for the grant upon request.
