Make someone’s day during The Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer, a unique, two-day cycling event on June 8th and 9th, 2024.

The Sweep volunteer role supports cycling participants to the finish line in a vehicle (vehicle provided by event). Once you collect your vehicle, you’ll proceed to the route and await instructions from the event operations centre. Your task involves locating participants along the course and offering transportation to those in need. You’ll ensure safe transport to the Pit Stop or to the event start/end location, while maintaining communication with the event operations centre about your whereabouts.

Must have:

  • A minimum of 21 years old.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Customer service skills.
  • A strong sense of direction and/or map reading ability.
  • Ability to drive for several hours.

Please note: completing the registration form does not automatically register you to volunteer for the Ride to Conquer Cancer or any other PMCF event. You will need to fill out an event application by selecting the event listing in the dashboard of your portal once you have created an account. This is where you can select the Sweep Team as your preferred team.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at pmcfteam@conquercancerevents.com or 289-351-2515.

Let's work together to Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime.

About the Ride:
Ride participants will cycle over 200 kilometers between Toronto and Niagara Falls, and camp overnight in Hamilton (the half-way point). The Ride to Conquer Cancer series is Canada’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event. Volunteers are at the core of our operations and play a critical role in achieving our mission. Thank you!

Mission Statement

We enable Future Care Now by raising funds that accelerate cancer research, education, and clinical care benefitting patients at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, across Canada, and around the world.

Description

Founded in 1982, Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (PMCF) raises funds to support research, patient care, and capital upgrades at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PMCC). Part of the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, the centre treats over 200 types of cancer and receives around 250,000 clinic visits each year. We are proud of our top 5 global position. The funds raised by the Foundation through our community of supporters helps us maintain this position and advance fundamental cancer discoveries and translation of these findings into the clinics. We also have Canada’s largest clinical trials program funded primarily through foundation grants.
