Help guide and teach the youth of East Palo Alto to ensure opportunities for hope and a future. During the school year, Hope Horizon East Palo Alto offers homework assistance alongside additional support in reading, writing, math, and other academics skills. Our staff creates an individualized learning plan in collaboration with parents and teachers.

Tutors p lay an essential role in a student’s academic growth. They work 1:1 with K-12 students to complete homework and help bring them up to grade level in reading and math. No prior experience needed.

Tutor at least twice a month in person at Hope Horizon or remotely during the school year for 1-3 hours. Hours vary depending on the grade level, but typical program days are Monday - Thursday 3-6pm. All volunteers are required to pass a background check. The mission of Hope Horizon East Palo Alto is to equip east-of-Bayshore youth to grow spiritually, gain life skills and develop as leaders so that they have hope and a future.

Description

Hope Horizon serves youth in the East Palo Alto community, meeting practical and spiritual needs through leadership training, spiritual development and life skills application. HH programs continue to grow and effectively serve over 200 youth participants each year in small group settings with individualized attention. Our programs are open to any youth in East Palo Alto, regardless of disability, race, religion or ethnic origin.
