Are you a college student seeking meaningful ways to fulfill your volunteer hours while making a difference in the lives of others? Join our hospice care team and become a vital part of providing comfort and support to patients and their families during their end-of-life journey.

Position Description:

As a volunteer with our hospice program, you have the opportunity to engage in either administrative clerical work or direct patient visits, depending on your interests and skills.

Administrative Clerical Work:

  • Assist with filing, organizing medical records, and completing administrative tasks.
    • Help with data entry, correspondence, and phone calls.
    • Support staff members in various administrative duties to ensure smooth operations.

    Direct Patient Visits:

    • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients facing terminal illnesses.
    • Engage in meaningful conversations, read to patients, or simply offer a comforting presence.
    • Assist with activities such as arts and crafts, playing games, or listening to music to enhance patients' quality of life.
    • Accompany patients on short walks or outings if appropriate and desired.

    Requirements:

    • Compassionate and empathetic individuals who are willing to listen and provide support.
    • Respect for patient confidentiality and sensitivity to cultural and religious beliefs.
      • Willingness to undergo volunteer training provided by our hospice program.
      • Must be able to work in the U.S and be 18 years or older.
