Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness is an 501c3 nonprofit organization that does policy advocacy and community engagement work to support people experiencing homelessness and their service providers in King County.
One of our most directly impactful activities is Voting Rights and Registration engagement, where we engage with community members with lived experience of homelessness in service site locations to help them be informed of their rights and share nonpartisan information about how they can make their voice heard.
As we approach the August 6th Primary Election, we are seeking volunteers to help us increase our impact. This in-person training will prepare new and returning volunteers on the basics of voting significance, eligibility, registration, casting ballots, and using trauma-informed language.
Attending one of these trainings will prepare you to volunteer at homeless service sites around King County as we engage community members with housing barriers and empower them to vote.

Mission Statement
We mobilize our community to challenge systemic causes of homelessness and advocate for housing justice.
Description
The Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness formed in 1979, when local shelter providers, city staff, advocates, and others who witnessed homelessness came together to advocate and direct resources to a growing crisis. The Coalition on Homelessness’ organizational members include agencies and community groups that provide emergency shelter and services, transitional housing, and permanent, supported housing to the roughly 27,000 people who are homeless in King County during one year. Local government departments, public housing authorities, professional associations, religious congregations and social action committees, and advocacy groups are also members of the Coalition, as are people who were or are homeless.
