NCHN needs volunteers to support our Case Management program for people living with HIV/AIDS. We have a lot of opportunities for people who want to help:
Are you great at organizing or creating recipes?
- Pick up food from Food Bank of Larimer County and deliver it to the NCHN office
- Unpack and sort food deliveries
- Organize and restock shelves, checking for expiration dates
- Find and create recipes that incorporate available food
Are you good at talking to people and making connections?
- Attend community events, like Pride festivals, and provide education on NCHN services
- Research and contact potential community donors
- Arrange donations of clothing, hygiene items, and snacks
- Assist the front desk with client inquiries
Do you speak Spanish, or another language alongside English? We could use your help translating (informational flyers, etc) for immigrants trying to work through HIV diagnosis and treatment.
Do you want to reduce stigma, encourage safer sex, or learn how to prevent overdoses? You could help us prevent the spread of HIV and improve the lives of those living with HIV or at risk of it.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Openness towards LGBTQ+ community
* Openness towards people living with HIV
* Openness towards people who inject street drugs
* Openness towards homeless population
We encourage people with personal experience in any of these to volunteer!
Our office is open during business hours M-F, with occasional weekend and evening events. Volunteers can have consistent shifts or flexible schedules, and we are happy to work with people completing community service requirements.
