We're seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with gardening tasks at the HOPE Harbor community garden. Hope Harbor is Efficiency apartments with affordable rent and case management support for individuals with low income. As a garden helper, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our team to maintain and beautify our community garden. Tasks may include planting, weeding, watering, mulching, and general garden upkeep.

Requirements:

  • Interest in gardening and outdoor activities
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and kneeling

Description

The Salvation Army offers social services and recreational programs with the goal of addressing specific physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of each family, individual, child/youth, or elderly person. Services provided include, but not limited to: emergency food shelves, school supply programs, rental/utility assistance, educational programs, outreach to the homeless, family and youth camping, community center programs, Christmas assistance programs, nursing home visitations, corrections programs, and disaster services.
