We are in need of dedicated volunteers who have a desire to work with older adults and families impacted by dementia, to assist families and individuals through our Helpline. Support may be provided by phone, email, Zoom and in-person, and comprehensive training will be provided.

To provide hands-on care and support, information, referrals, education and resources for families in Orange County and surrounding areas who experience memory loss, Alzheimer’s and other dementia's, while advancing critical research for a cure.

Description

The Alzheimer's Orange County is a non-profit agency. We are funded through personal donations, grants, fundraisers and donations from large corporations. Alzheimer's Orange County provides support, information and education to Alzheimer's individuals and their families, friends and co-workers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • We ask volunteers to commit to regular shifts in our Helpline to assist families, from 1 to 5 days per week, from 4-8 hours, depending on availability.
  • Ideal candidates will have excellent phone and interpersonal skills, and have a willingness and desire to become a dementia expert to assist families and individuals impacted by cognitive impairment, by phone, in-person and email.
