The Capital Campaign Chair in a non-profit organization, your primary responsibility is to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a fundraising campaign aimed at raising significant funds for a specific capital project or initiative.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the capital campaign, in collaboration with the organization's leadership and fundraising team.
- Recruit and manage a team of volunteers to support fundraising efforts, including identifying potential donors, soliciting contributions, and stewarding donor relationships.
- Cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and other potential sources of funding to secure significant gifts and pledges.
- Plan and execute campaign events, such as kickoff events, donor receptions, and cultivation activities, to engage donors and raise awareness about the campaign.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the organization's board of directors and other stakeholders on the progress of the campaign, including fundraising goals, milestones, and challenges.
- Work closely with the organization's staff, including development professionals, marketing and communications staff, and finance team, to ensure effective coordination and support for the campaign.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and making adjustments as needed to optimize results and achieve fundraising goals.
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization and the capital campaign, representing the organization's mission, values, and goals to donors, supporters, and the community.
