Are you passionate about creating heartwarming and impactful visual stories? Tell your story by designing graphics that make the world a better place. Back on My Feet is looking for a motivated graphic designer who will share our members’ stories, brainstorm innovative designs with the team, and master efficient curation of creative assets! While this internship is fully remote and unpaid, we are able to work with college programs to fulfill credit requirements. College students at the junior, senior, and master’s degree levels are encouraged to apply - currently filling internship spots for Summer and Fall 2024.

Work You’ll Be Doing

Depending on the season you join us, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a broad variety of campaigns ranging from:

  • FundRacing - promote our charity bib programs for races and marathons around the world!
  • Events - increase awareness and revenue from our fundraising events, both local and national.
  • Fundraising Campaigns - raise the critical funding we need to help our members regain self-sufficiency and stand on their own two feet.

Day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Designing visuals and promo content for social media, emails, flyers, signage, and other formats
  • Creating graphics & video reels using Canva
  • Designing product mock-ups for branded merch
  • Collecting, resizing, and organizing image files from our other departments for future use
  • Researching design trends within the industry and pitching new ideas to our department
Expectations
  • This is a remote position, so you'll need your own computer and Internet access.
  • Availability to meet in Zoom or Slack 1-2 times a week during US working hours (8am-5pm EST) and roughly 8-10 hours per week to dedicate to this internship.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office or Google Docs (same thing, different URL) and willingness to learn new platforms (Slack, Asana, Canva, Pardot, WordPress, etc).
  • Reasonable communication skills and ability to review designs for typos and grammar issues.
  • Ability to self-manage your time. We'll check in a couple of times a week, but no one will be micromanaging you for deliverables.
  • Be open to learning new things AND willing to do some research on your own.
  • Be enthusiastic about our mission and excited to brainstorm new ideas to help us grow!

Back on My Feet interns help revolutionize the way society perceives homelessness and have the chance to participate in our participants' journey toward self-sufficiency.

Back on My Feet empowers people to achieve economic independence through fitness and community. Who We Help: We work with people experiencing homelessness or addiction who currently reside within shelters and recovery facilities. Description

Back on My Feet seeks to revolutionize the way society approaches homelessness. Our unique model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead. For all in need, we aim to provide: practical training and employment resources for achieving independence; an environment that promotes accountability; and a community that offers compassion and hope.

For all with the capacity to serve - volunteers, donors, community and corporate partners - we seek to engage you in the profound experience of empowering individuals to achieve what once seemed impossible through the seemingly simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.
