YOU DON"T NEED A LOT OF TALENT! Just be willing to give time to someone receiving hospice care. We appreciate a gifted musician, however, if you just like to play music or sing along, you will still make a difference!
Music and singing bring comfort and companionship to all people, but it is so appreciated by those who are confined to their homes or a facility. They need you as a volunteer to provide enjoyment and improve quality of life. Only an hour or two a week makes a difference in our patient's lives
We will train and support you in every step of the way! Volunteers meet all sorts of people in hospice, and each has a story with different circumstance. You will learn so much on how to enjoy the time you spend with them!

Description
Compassus provides care state-wide through Michigan, including Borgess Health System, Genesys Health System, St. John Providence Health System, St. Joseph Health System and St. Mary’s of Michigan.
Many times the most healing setting for patients to receive their care is in the place they call home. While remaining at home at end of life can bring great comfort, it can also require professional care and support.
During those times, Compassus Hospice can make a profound difference in your life or the life of someone you love with our innovative and inspired care.

- Volunteering with hospice is flexible. We work around your busy schedule, but estimate about 1-3 hours a week depending on patient requests, and volunteer schedule.
- TB testing, background check with fingerprinting, and comprehensive hospice volunteer training are mandatory nationwide for hospice volunteering to maintain safety and confidentiality for our end-of-life care. Must have a US social security number.
