We receive donated durable medical equipment (like wheelchairs, walkers, canes, shower chairs, etc.) and inspect it to make sure it is in good condition. We clean it, and then make it available to loan out free to anyone who needs it.
Re-using equipment like this is great for the environment too, as we avoid sending items to the landfill, and avoid wasting resources on manufacturing new equipment when there is existing equipment readily available.

Mission Statement

Supporting our members with services, resources and community connections so they can enjoy vibrant, healthy and fulfilling lives in their own homes.

Description

Villages are vibrant grassroots communities of older adults who age actively in their own homes. Through a nonprofit, membership-based network, members make new connections, are exposed to different perspectives and give and receive mutual support. Villages are revolutionizing aging in our country. Their network of volunteers help people age interdependently by sponsoring social and educational activities, encouraging community engagement, and assisting members with services such as transportation, minor home repairs, technology, companionship and pet care. Fear of isolation is replaced with confidence that as older adults they can look forward to active lives filled with friendship, learning, and laughter.
