Description:

The African American Women Trucking Association (AAWTA) is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Intern to join our dynamic team. As a social media intern, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our online presence, engaging with our audience, and promoting our mission of empowering African American women in the trucking industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation: Develop engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Create graphics, videos, and written posts that resonate with our audience and align with our brand.

  2. Community Engagement: Actively monitor social media channels, respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Foster meaningful interactions with our followers and build a strong sense of community online.

  3. Campaign Management: Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to raise awareness about AAWTA initiatives, events, and advocacy efforts. Collaborate with team members to develop campaign strategies and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

  4. Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze key metrics to evaluate the performance of our social media activities. Provide regular reports and insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  5. Research and Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, social media best practices, and emerging technologies. Share insights and recommendations with the team to optimize our social media strategy and stay ahead of the curve.

  6. Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members including marketing, communications, and event planning to integrate social media into broader organizational initiatives and campaigns.

Requirements:

  1. Passion for social media and digital marketing.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Creative thinking and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  6. Knowledge of the trucking industry or willingness to learn.
  7. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  8. Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., marketing, communications, digital media).

This is a remote, part-time position with flexible hours. Candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those with lived experience in the trucking industry or advocacy for African American women, are encouraged to apply.
