Feeding the Homeless

ORGANIZATION: The Lord's Place

  • 10 people are interested

The Lord's Place Cafe Joshua is a place where currently homeless people can sit down and be served a healthy, hot meal. We are seeking volunteers to serve the meals to these individuals, as the cafe is meant to be a "dining experience" and not "just lunch," with a dignified, peaceful atmosphere.

The assignment consists of greeting clients as they are seated, bringing food and drinks from the kitchen to the tables, and providing companionship and support. All of our volunteers are encouraged to spend time talking with and listening to our clients, as making personal connections is a vital part of our service. We offer lunch as a way to engage people and introduce them to the many services that we provide, to help them on their journey out of homelessness.

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Volunteers would preferably be able to consistently commit to 11 am- 1 pm one day per week, or more if willing and able!
