Are you a compassionate person looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity? Pathways Hospice is recruiting volunteers to support hospice patients and their caregivers in private homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Volunteers provide companionship to patients and may read, watch tv , listen to music or other activities during a visit.

Volunteers visit patients once a week for approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours per visit. Visit times are flexible and scheduled according to the volunteer's preference and availability.

No experience is required. Online hospice training is provided through the Hospice and Homecare Network.

Description

Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary team consisting of a medical director, nurses, therapists, social workers, chaplains and home health aides. Volunteer roles consist of direct patient visits at home, reading, music, pet therapy, reiki, veteran recognition, and other administrative duties. Hospice volunteers find their work emotionally meaningful and gratifying. The volunteer opportunity is extremely flexible based on the volunteers' location and schedule; volunteers are valued members of our hospice care team.
