Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate high school student to join our team as a Volunteer Social Media Analyst. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work focused on supporting people of color and addressing reentry into incarceration rates. As a Volunteer Social Media Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing our social media presence, engaging with our audience, and researching strategies to expand our reach across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation: Create engaging and relevant content for our social media platforms, including posts, stories, and graphics, to raise awareness about our mission and initiatives.
  2. Audience Engagement: Monitor comments, messages, and mentions across social media channels, and actively engage with followers and commenters to foster a sense of community and address inquiries.
  3. Research and Analysis: Conduct research to identify trends, best practices, and opportunities for growth on social media platforms. Provide insights and recommendations to improve our social media strategy.
  4. Platform Management: Assist in managing and maintaining our presence on various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with team members to coordinate social media campaigns, events, and initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of messaging and branding.
  6. Reporting: Compile and analyze social media metrics to track performance and evaluate the effectiveness of our efforts. Prepare regular reports summarizing key findings and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for social justice issues, particularly those affecting people of color and individuals reentering society after incarceration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for design and content quality.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in social media marketing.
  • Previous experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing is a plus but not required.
