A PR person to share our calender of activities, pictures and videos with electronic media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram and inkedin. This volunteer will liaise with all members of our board to keep our Fb, Insta and Linkedin pages up to date and vibrant. This volunteer will collaborate with our staff and members to post photos and videos of our events during season in Naples. We are hoping to elevate our profile and increase membership through your efforts. You are not expected to attend all the events, although they are enjoyable; just to share photos and videos on our media sites.

Mission Statement

To support Collier County Public Library; to obtain greater usefulness or wider use of library; and to support the literary and educational needs of the community through the Public Library.

Description

The Friends of the Library not only gathered funds to build the first library in Collier County, but have donated over $200,000. annually over the past decade to help fund library programs, books, e-books and services to benefit all residents. Postage is paid by the Friends' for the Mail-A-Book program which sends requested library media to qualified homebound residents. The Friends fund The summer reading program for children and adults as well as year long programs and supplies at all 10 libraries. Tangible items such as ipads with appropriate software, furniture, educational toys and geneaology materials are provided by the Friends. After school programs and supplies for teens and preschool programs are supported. The fundraising to provide this is achieved through offering 3 lecture series; the Nick Linn Fiction Series of 4 events, the Nonfiction Series of 4 events, and the Author Spotlight Series of 2 Historical Fiction speakers at the Sugden Theater downtown Naples.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The events run from late December through early April but a physical presence is not required. Collaboration with attendees and frequent updates to our social media is all that is necessary
  • To become a member of the Friends of the Library, which allows you to attend 7 members-only events a season for a total cost of $45.
