Chapter Treasurer - Job Description

General Function: The Chapter Treasurer is the top volunteer financial officer of the Chapter and shall ensure that the Chapter’s finances are maintained, managed and conducted in accordance with the HDSA Strategic Plan, Chapter Agreement, Plan of Work, HDSA policies and procedures, and federal and state law.
Term of Service: One Year - may be re-elected two times for a total of three years serving.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Follow and manage all Chapter affairs and safeguards of all funds received in accordance with the HDSA Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual by:
o Regularly check the mail. Pay bills in a timely manner and properly code expenses according to
the HDSA chart of accounts.
o Deposit all funds collected through the mail, by board members, other volunteers or at an event.
o Ensure proper controls are in place such that all funds are accounted for and deposited in a timely
manner
o Submit monthly reports of deposits and expenditures to the National Office Controller by the 10th of
the following month.
* Serve as co-signer of the Chapter Agreement with Chapter President.
* Develop Chapter annual budget with other Chapter leaders.
* Report to the board on and explain all financial matters including budget to actual revenue and expenditures.
* Follow the requirements of the HDSA Chapter Agreement, Plan of Work, and Budget.
* Work alongside all Executive Committee members to accomplish tasks of vacant positions.
* Use HDSA Connect for finding tools to help with volunteer work.
* Signor on Chapter bank account.
* Participate in Regional meetings and share call updates with Chapter Committee members.
