The iLearn Summer Youth Program is for refugee students K-12 in Austin. Certified teachers provide students with English Language Instruction (ELI), math, and creative activities. Volunteers guide students through these activities and develop relationships with them. We also bring students on a field trip once a week to various places around Austin and day trips outside of Austin as well. Volunteers may act as chaperones on these field trips. Overall iLearn aims to be a holistic experience that not only helps students strengthen their English skills but also provides them with a safe and supportive environment to make new friends and learn new things.

Description
Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) is proud to have programs such as Hands on Housing & the Refugee Program! Under our Hands on Housing program, we utilize volunteers and skilled professionals to repair the homes of senior citizens and disabled individuals who are living in deep poverty. Our goal is to keep our homeowners safe and help them remain in the homes and neighborhoods they love. Our Refugee Program currently serve refugees from 20 countries! Under this program, we offer ELI (English Language Instruction) for newly arrived refugee adults, tutoring services for elementary through high school students, a youth summer program (iLEARN), and a youth refugee mentorship program.
