Volunteers are sought to spend time with hospice patients in the Wrentham area.
Activities a volunteer might engage in include:
- Companionship and socialization include activities such as taking walks, offering a helping hand, and assisting with writing letters or cards to friends. Reminiscing, gathering information about the patient's history, and documenting their life story are also valuable. Volunteers can spend time watching movies, playing cards, listening to music, helping to water plants, and simply being a friend in the patient's final days.
We request just 1-2 hours per week to spend time with the patient. Join our dedicated volunteer team that has significantly impacted the lives of hospice patients and their families.

Description
Hospice Philosophy
Hospice provides palliative support and care for persons in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live as fully and as comfortable as possible. Hospice recognizes dying as part of the normal process of living and focuses on maintaining the quality of remaining life. Hospice affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice exists in the hope and belief that through appropriate care, and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental, social, physical, and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them.
