2024 Celebration 5K for Ottawa County

Anyone who has been to a Girls on the Run 5K knows that it is unlike any other running event!

The Celebration 5K is, first and foremost, a CELEBRATION of and for the girls who are completing 20 life-skills lessons of Girls on the Run programming. Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music and gather with their teammates as they head to the starting line.

However, this event is only possible with the help of a large number of volunteers, who spend a few hours with us on race-day to help keep the girls motivated and (most of all) SAFE!

Our 5K is a non-competitive event that will bring a smile to your face! Whether volunteering for set-up, out on the course, or staying after to help clean up, you will be so glad you joined us!

To volunteer you can register here: https://www.gotrwm.org/5k-ottawa

Mission Statement

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run uses an interactive curriculum and running to develop self-respect and healthy lifstyles in pre-teen girls. Delivered in an after school format, our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls' development - physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. Lessons provide girls with the tools to make positive decisions and to avoid risky adolescent behaviors.
