St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude pioneered the bench-to-bedside model in advancing the care and treatment of catastrophically ill children and developed groundbreaking treatments for providing outpatient pediatric cancer care. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.
