Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have a knack for marketing and communications? Join STAR House's Communications Committee and help us promote our mission of providing emergency overnight care and services for children aged 0 through age 6 years in St. Paul, MN.
Role Description:
-Collaborate with the Communications Committee to develop and execute marketing strategies to promote STAR House.
-Assist with creating engaging content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.
-Support the implementation of the branding guide, marketing plan, content calendar, and other marketing initiatives.
-Attend monthly virtual meetings to discuss progress, share ideas, and collaborate with committee members.
-Take initiative and work independently to contribute fresh ideas and execute new projects. -Adapt to changing marketing trends and provide feedback on ways to improve marketing efforts.
-Utilize tools such as Canva, Google Workspace, Monday.com, and GoDaddy to support communication efforts.
Requirements:
-Experience in marketing/communications or a genuine interest in marketing. -Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Self-starter, able to work virtually both independently and collaboratively. -Ability to think creatively and contribute innovative ideas.
-Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
-Comfortable working in a startup phase non-profit organization.
-Familiarity with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools preferred.
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month, with the opportunity for more hours if desired. This includes attending one 1-hour virtual meeting per month.

Mission Statement
STAR House is crisis nursery which exists to provide a temporary home away from home for children and supportive services to uplift and strengthen the entire family.
Description
As a nonprofit corporation, STAR House will offer free, safe, holistic, and trauma-informed care to children in an overnight care facility. Parents/guardians will become a part of our support network, and be encouraged to care for themselves and/or receive services to overcome barriers or life stressors they may be facing such as housing instability, financial instability, inadequate childcare, domestic violence, etc. We will partner with other community services to make available the resources, care, and support that the family desires. We will create a safe home away from home for children in early childhood.
