ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The Anacostia Park Skating Pavilion offers free skate rentals to the public every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Staff from both the National Park Service and Friends of Anacostia Park will run the skate rental office alongside volunteers. This is an opportunity to spend time in a park setting, interact with members of the local community, and learn more about the park.

Volunteer tasks may include:

· Operating skate rental booth

· Organizing, assigning, and shelving skates

· Distributing and recording skate rentals

· Receiving/sanitizing skates

· Answering questions and providing information

· Roving the pavilion and surrounding area

· Maintaining the cleanliness of the skate rental office

· Providing general support


Must be available to volunteer on a regular basis, preferably on Sundays, Mondays, and/or Thursdays, for full or half-day shifts.
