Hospice Volunteers are the heartbeat of Medi Hospice. They are kind, caring individuals that donate their time, gifts and abilities to help enhance the quality of life to individuals nearing the end of their life's journey.
What do Hospice Volunteers Do?
Provide companionship, emotional support, musical talents, make blankets/art, bake goods and create cards, plus so much more!
Being a volunteer is a hand's off role that relies on the power of service and having a heart that is willing to be present.

Mission Statement
Our Mission • To improve the quality of life for worthy and needy individuals with life limiting illnesses and their families who do not qualify for federal, state or insurance assistance. • To provide additional services that are outside of federal, state and insurance benefits to individuals who have six months or less to live. This will be accomplished by providing in-home personal care, respite, financial assistance, education and counseling. • To improve end-of-life care by providing educational training to individuals and health professionals in the communities we serve.
Description
Hospice is about adding quality to life, and helping our patients live those days as they choose in the comfort of their home. Our services offer a specialized team of dedicated caregivers, chosen to meet the unique needs of every Hospice patient. This team includes registered nurses, chaplains, home health aides, social workers, volunteers and bereavement counselors. We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with their time, gifts and unique talents in various ways whether it be in person with the patients and their families or in our Pulaski, VA office. There is volunteer opportunities in various locations with the New River Valley area and surrounding counties including Carroll, Grayson, and Wytheville. If you can read a book out loud, an active listener, can paint, bake, sew, play music and much more then there is a need for YOU!
