Are you a Marketing or Communications student or recent graduate? The Stem Montessori

Academy of Canada is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer Social Media Manager.

Working closely with the Marketing Team, the Social Media Coordinator will take the lead

on SMAC’s online presence, help spread awareness of STEM, and share information on

our programs and initiatives. This is a remote position within Canada.

The STEM Montessori Academy of Canada is a federally registered not for profit regional

science technology engineering and math (STEM) program open to all students with the

mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The STEM program educates

students from preschool to high school. SMAC will specialize in an advanced, bar-none

STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of

science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Duties & Responsibilities:

● Create and maintain an active and engaging online presence for STEM

SMAC through new social media

channels(Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), integrating messaging

across various channels to ensure a vibrant and consistent institutional voice

to increase brand awareness.

● Develop creative campaign ideas and compelling content to amplify STEM SMAC

to recruit and engage new volunteers and potential students

● Engage personal network to develop potential partnerships and sponsorships

● Attend virtual meetings with Marketing and HR Team

● Identify opportunities for social media and other digital advertising campaigns

● Establish and maintain community management best practices for organizing and

maintaining content assets and responding to followers on all channels

● Works closely with colleagues to support social marketing initiatives

● Regularly review social media tools and analytics data to track growth, creating

reports, and making strategic recommendations

● Special projects and other duties as assigned

● Share information of programs and new initiatives within the SMAC network


Requirements:

● Marketing or Communications experience professional

● Strong written and oral communication skills

● Experience as a social media

● Excellent organizational skills and a track record of managing multiple schedules and

tight deadlines efficiently and effectively

● Strong competence in community management

● Strong graphic design and editing skills for social

● Demonstrated experience with social media marketing, including major platforms

such as Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and YouTube

● The ability to represent the STEM SMAC well in all aspects of the job, through an

insistence on extremely high quality in all media content created

● Superior social media skills, understanding, and knowledge of digital trends
