St. John UCC is pleased to host HHH Summer Camp for the 12th year. HHH Summer Camp is a free lunch program for children 4 to 18 years old that incorporates reading, math, and STEM class to keep student's skills up over the summer as well as traditional camp activities such as P.E., Cooking Camp, Arts & Crafts, Games, Drama, Music, and much more! We are looking for caring people ages 16 and older to act as camp counselors to lead and mentor students. HHH is high energy and very rewarding!
Our staff eats lunch with the children and youth in our program to check in on their highs and lows. There is a story time everyday after lunch before the groups are excused to 3 - 1/2 hour rotations. Camp counselors will take attendance, assist children with lunch, develop healthy relationships within the group, follow the daily schedule and lead children to each rotation, assist the teacher as needed, monitor behavior during each rotation, excuse children to their parents at the end of the day.
We also need help in the kitchen to prepare, serve, and clean up the lunch. Kitchen staff arrive at 10:00 and are usually finished by 1 p.m.
We need 7 fun-loving adults to oversee the different age groups of children as they participate in camp activities.
We offer 2 opportunities to come for the 1.5 hour training - you only need to attend once! Call Dana for times at 618-344-2526.
Must love children and be flexible - we'd love to have you join our staff!
