We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Manager for our Mentorship Development Department. This vital role focuses on the training, matching, and ongoing support of mentors who are committed to shaping positive futures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the training sessions for new mentors to ensure they are fully prepared for their role.
- Facilitate the matching process between mentors and mentees, considering the needs, interests, and personalities to create impactful relationships.
- Provide continuous support and resources to active mentors, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to succeed.
- Organize and lead regular check-ins with mentors to gather feedback and offer problem-solving solutions.
- Collaborate with other AFGM departments to align mentorship activities with broader organizational goals.

A Few Good Mentors, Inc. (AFGM) is a 501c3 community based mentoring program that provides young men with experienced mentors who develop a bond with mentees and offer support, guidance, and opportunities to help establish and accomplish life goals.
Description
AFGM began on October 2019, we beleive every young man can benefit from having a mentor to help navigate through life. Mentors will meet or contact their assigned mentees a minimum of one hour weekly. The goal is for mature men to help younger males develop into mature men. We focus on seven areas of devlopment. Spirituality, leadership, job/career. education, finances, good manners and health. Since we began we have mentored over 30 young men in the DC/VA and MD area as well as the Hampton Roads area ov Virginia.
