ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter

Community educators provide basic information about dementia, caregiving and local resources. Events are often held in senior centers, libraries, at civic groups, fitness/health centers, etc. A connection to the disease is important but not necessary. We will train and support all educators and provide materials.

Our Mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Description

We are the primary community resource for Alzheimers disease and related disorders through family services, education, public policy and research. We serve 96 counties in Illinois and Missouri, Skilled volunteers join professional staff to participate at every level of service from office support to public speaking to leadership and more. The associations success and growth are due to the dedication nearly 1,000 volunteers, including students and interns.
