Introduction

As an Assistant Executive Director at the Chicago Education Advocacy Cooperative, you'll be integral to the organization's operations, supporting the Executive Director across administrative, operational, and strategic functions. Role Description

Administrative Support: Manage schedules, calendar appointments, and organize meetings for the Executive Director. Prepare comprehensive meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure progress.

Communication: Act as a liaison between the Executive Director and internal/external stakeholders by helping draft, edit, and distribute correspondence, including emails, letters, and reports. Maintain precise records of communications and interactions.

Project Assistance: Contribute to the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects under the Executive Director's direction and assist in tracking project milestones. Support with project documentation and reporting requirements.

Event Coordination: Assist in coordinating workshops, conferences, and other events. Manage event logistics, including venue arrangements, participant registrations, and material preparation. Ensure seamless execution of events and provide on-site support as needed.

Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic planning and goal setting and contribute ideas and insights to support the implementation of initiatives aligned with the organization's mission. Assist in monitoring progress towards strategic goals and objectives.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Participate in team meetings, contribute to team projects, and support a positive work environment. Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives and provide support to colleagues as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in education advocacy and nonprofit work is a plus.
