Here is a fulfilling opportunity to serve your community by joining our team as a Hospice Volunteer! Volunteers are a strong foundation of our care team assisting patients and families through their end of life journey in many ways. All hospice volunteers will receive free training and support from Hospice professionals, prior to receiving their patient assignment. You may visit at the patient's bedside: listening/sharing stories, engaging in conversation, playing games, reading books, building puzzles, or painting nails. You can also help in our office support with patient mailings, filing paperwork, or providing check in call to patients.

Mission Statement

HCA Midwest Hospice & Family Care: Our hospice offering provides end-of-life care and delivers physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients and families through every stage of the hospice journey.

Description

Our hospice team provides care specifically tailored to meet the delicate needs of those facing a terminal illness, who, rather than continuing to undergo curative treatment, would prefer to live comfortably and peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. We provide our patients and families with a team of experts who help our patients to live life on their terms - full - with dignity and respect. We work to minimize pain and discomfort while maximizing support and tender care during our patient's last days. Our team includes licensed physicians, nurses, and specialists. We meet patients and families wherever they reside in both Kansas and Missouri near Kansas City.
