Invasive Plant Crew Volunteer

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Volunteer with our Invasive Plant Team and help survey and clear invasive plants in Whiskeytown!


Description of Duties:

  • Identifying invasive plant species.
  • Surveying and mapping plant species in the park.
  • Working with the Invasive Plant Management Crew.
  • Removing invasive plans and reporting removal to supervisor.
  • Hand pulling, cutting, and removal of invasive plants.
  • General administrative duties as outlined in the Volunteer Handbook.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with plants, going off trails, on steep slopes, and being outdoors in the heat for extended periods of time. This position will be performed on weekdays only.

This is an excellent opportunity for people looking to gain experience working with plants or just wanting to get outdoors.

Training will be provided for this position.
