Join Our Advisory Board and Empower Girls of Color with Oasis

Are you passionate about uplifting girls and young women of color and equipping them with the tools for success? Oasis for Girls invites you to join us in our mission to cultivate the dreams and futures of girls aged 14-18 from under-resourced communities in San Francisco.

About Us: At Oasis for Girls, we partner with girls and young women of color to provide them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to discover their dreams and build strong futures. Through culturally relevant and gender-specific programs, we empower girls and foster sisterhood through shared experiences.

How We Do It: Oasis for Girls offers three distinct programs, each with a unique curriculum focused on academic and career exploration, creative arts, and social justice. Our girls, aged 14-18, participate in one program at a time, receiving mentorship and guidance from Program Leaders who reflect their backgrounds and serve as allies throughout their high school years and beyond.

Our Belief: We firmly believe that comprehensive change in our communities begins with empowering the girls who are affected now. By arming our girls with the skills and resources to make positive changes in their communities and beyond, we pave the way for a brighter future for all.

Join Us in Empowering Our Girls: We are seeking individuals with expertise in fundraising, capital campaign management, real estate/commercial/facilities development, and non-profit finance to join our Advisory Board. As a board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding our organization's strategic direction and ensuring the sustainability of our programs.

Commitments:

  • 2-Year Term: Board members commit to a two-year term.
  • Attend 80% of Meetings: Members are expected to attend at least 80% of board meetings, held bi-monthly.
  • Assist with Business Development: This includes donating to or fundraising for the organization.
  • Dedicate 12-15 Hours/Month: As a working board, members are expected to dedicate 12-15 hours per month to board-related activities.
  • Passion for the Mission: Most importantly, board members should be passionate about the mission and vision of Oasis for Girls.

Why Join Us? By joining Oasis for Girls' Advisory Board, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of girls and young women of color in San Francisco. You will be part of a dedicated team working towards empowering the next generation of female leaders and change-makers.
