StormFest is an outdoor stormwater learning event for Highline Public Schools 6th grade students taking place June 4-6 at Des Moines Beach Park. We are seeking Station Educators (18 years or older) to teach a fun, interactive stormwater lesson. There are several dual-language Spanish classes, so we are excited for some educators to teach the lessons in Spanish. Station educators are eligible to receive a $500 stipend for their participation.
Why should you volunteer?
- StormFest provides an opportunity to connect with the next generation of environmental stewards in Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park and SeaTac
- It is a great opportunity to meet new like-minded people, build a community, network and be a role model for students
- This is an excellent volunteer activity for groups, families, communities and individuals
- Gain valuable, hands-on experience teaching environmental science to youth (great resume builder!)
- StormFest provides people a chance to interact with other local environmental professionals
Help us inspire the next generation of environmental stewards and motivate students to care about stormwater and their local streams! Please apply by May 19 and use the link below to apply as a volunteer today!
