Cincinnati Music & Wellness Coalition (CMWC), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization promotes a culture of wellness in diverse populations through evidence-based recreational music making, education, and arts engagement. The two evidence-based music making programs Clavinova Connection and HealthRHYTHMS were innovated by Barry Bittman, MD, neurologist, researcher, pioneer in mind body medicine, and population health innovator.
CMWC has offered HealthRHYTHMS, group empowerment drumming at senior care facilities, schools, non-profits, and mental health facilities in Greater Cincinnati. Clavinova Connection uses Yamaha’s digital pianos and is offered at several locations mostly at senior living communities for residents i.e. independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing in Hamilton County and Warren County.
Peer-reviewed published research on both programs has demonstrated reduction in depression, anxiety, and tension, improves communication, increases self-esteem, and offers the ability to have fun with friends and make new friends. The programs are suitable for all ages.
More recently, CMWC opened the Cincinnati Music & Wellness Center at Centennial Barn located at 110 Compton Road, Cincinnati OH 45215. The goal is to offer Clavinova Connection and HealthRHYTHMS to the public. Trained facilitators will actively engage individuals of all ages during the week as well as on weekends. The objective is to help the Cincinnati community improve quality of life by offering prevention services such as our evidence-based music making programs.
CMWC is working to build a base of trained facilitators. They will provide the necessary training. No prior musical experience is required to become a facilitator. Would you be willing to donate 2-4 hours monthly to provide wellness through music to Cincinnatians to stay healthy?
Whatever your passion and purpose is, we are here to connect you to local nonprofits. RSVP is exclusive to those 55 years+ and residents of Greater Cincinnati
