Live Music Event - The Judas of Folk, a part of our MAKE SOME NOISE season

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: MUSE/IQUE

On June 22nd and 23rd, 2024, MUSE/IQUE will present our live music event at Pasadena Memorial Park. This is a great opportunity to be a part of our MAKE SOME NOISE season.

Why:

It was outrageous. It was audacious. It was electric. When Bob Dylan plugged-in his guitar for an electric set at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, he changed the conversation about the rules of music and art forever. With his stunning "betrayal" in Newport, Dylan challenged the conventions of folk and propelled the genre into thrilling new territory. Join us as we trace the progression of folk music from its traditional roots to its role as the music of movements and protests; to Dylan's bold swing, and beyond.

About MUSE/IQUE

Location:

300 E. Green Street, 3rd Floor, Suite 216, PASADENA, CA 91101, US

Mission Statement

All human beings deserve the opportunity to have their imaginations and understanding expanded through active engagement with inspired live music. MUSE/IQUE pioneers new musical experiences for people by creating curated live music events and outreach programs, all aimed at inspiring the creative spirit, engaging the community imagination, and fostering new generations of music lovers.

Description

MUSE/IQUE is a member-supported, nonprofit performing arts organization making radically engaging live music experiences accessible for all. Built on a tradition of community and collaboration, we create events that feature an eclectic mix of artists and artistic disciplines in unconventional locations-spaces where art typically does not happen. MUSE/IQUE creates transformative musical adventures and illuminates the music that shapes our lives. By reimagining the traditional format of the live classical orchestral experience, Artistic Director Rachael Worby seamlessly blends musical performances with researched curation. Our mission is to build empathy and expand imaginations through transformative live events and strong partnerships with fellow nonprofit organizations in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area.

We need the help of volunteers to act as way finders and front of house support, engaging with guests to elevate their experience.
