Princeton Justice Initiative in partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors invite first time and new volunteers of all ages and skills to the ShareFair Community Resource Fair.

Volunteers will welcome Trenton area neighbors and provide help with accessing community resources, vaccines, pro bono civil legal advice, online search help, and more.

Mission Statement

Princeton Justice Initiative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit social impact and legal aid organization with a mission to alleviate, reduce and eliminate poverty in Central Western New Jersey. Princeton Justice Initiative’s vision is to end local poverty by creating innovative and realistic solutions, developing problem-solving methodologies and setting best practice standards to end systemic economic injustice which can be replicated and adopted in communities throughout the U.S.

Description

Princeton Justice Initiative is a start-up social impact nonprofit founded in 2020. PJI pursues its mission via a multi-faceted, evidenced-based, and holistic approach that engages key stakeholders in the community.

The mission encompasses:


1. Providing direct relief to people who are economically disadvantaged by providing civil legal aid, connecting them with local resources to help them meet basic need and assisting with obtaining public assistance and social services;

2. Pursuing public interest research, litigation and advocacy to improve the systemic inefficiencies which perpetuate poverty, have an adverse impact on the poor or are economically unjust;


3. Inspiring, engaging and empowering the community’s involvement in finding solutions to poverty and economic injustice through partnership and coalition building; and


4. Changing the system through civic advocacy training, community organizing guidance, outreach education, creating taskforces and leading projects.
