Join the Girls on the Run San Diego Board of Directors
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about our mission and ready to help steward our organization for future growth. Being part of the GOTRSD board is a great opportunity to use your professional skills to give back, join a community of volunteers and leaders, and make a difference for girls throughout San Diego County. Please note: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
All are welcome to apply-we strive to be an inclusive organization that represents the communities we serve. To ensure diversity of perspectives and approaches, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, people 18 and older, and residents of all gender identities from all parts of San Diego County are encouraged to apply.
Our board is currently seeking leaders with one or more of the following attributes:
- Deep connections in communities of color currently unserved or underserved by GOTRSD
- Current and former education professionals, especially administrators, social workers/counselors, or district leaders
- Natural relationship and community builders
- Individuals with professional experience in legal, DEI, and/or HR disciplines
- Parents or guardians of past or current GOTR participants
- Experience serving on a nonprofit board or as a long-term volunteer with a nonprofit organization in a leadership capacity
- Individuals who are bilingual or multilingual

About Girls on the Run San Diego
Girls on the Run envisions a world where every participant knows and activates their limitless potential and is free to pursue their dreams. Throughout this 10-week after-school program, participants build social, emotional, and physical skills they can employ for life. It is one of the only youth development programs of its kind and has been shown to have a long-term positive impact on the lives of participants. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and an independent council of Girls on the Run International.

Description
The Program:
Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 positive youth development program which combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls. Our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. Lessons provide girls with the tools to make positive decisions and to avoid risky adolescent behaviors.
