We have an exciting volunteer opportunity to help with the World Championship Corgi Races held in Washington State at Emerald Downs Race Track on July 14th. We have a special race for CORGIS FOR A CURE - The Race to end Alzheimers .
It is a fun, unique, and exciting day - but we need volunteers to get it kicked off to make it a success! It is part of the Alzheimer's Association 'The Longest Day' - do something you love and honor those living with Alzheimer's disease by helping to find a cure.

This 'Corgi Committee' will help us:

  • Grow the reach of "Corgis For a Cure" by recruiting at least three (3) Corgi fundraisers
  • Help connect us with other Corgi lovers and groups that would like to support our fundraising efforts
  • Provide support to the corgis and their families that are entered in the race by encouraging and supporting them prior to race day
  • Provide input on fundraising ideas for participants

Members of the CORGI Committee:

  • Attend a one-hour virtual meeting twice monthly in May, June and July.
  • Cultivate relationships with Fundraising Leaders and provide coaching and ideas on how to raise funds, recruit team members, and plan their day
  • Participate in event-specific focus groups to help team leads brainstorm and troubleshoot
  • Engage our Corgis and their families by making welcome phone calls, and/ or writing thank-you notes
  • Promote the Corgi Race on social media and in the community in addition

We are looking for Race Day volunteers, and people that have these additional skill sets: Social Media marketing, Graphic design, Photography, Fundraising experience and MANY More!

Share your interest and your skills for this very worthy cause! Contact jacallahan@alz.org for more information!
