I Support the Girls-Whidbey Island needs help in our little warehouse 3-6 hours per week. You would be sorting and putting away incoming donations and then filling requests by our partnering organizations. This requires a little lifting, some bending but mostly working at a work bench that is perfect height for doing what we do. The volunteer must be able to work well with others or alone as the need dictates. You would also need to be able to communicate well with the other team members, especially the Affiliate Director and Co-Director as needed. Counting is a big plus.

About I Support the Girls-Whidbey Island

Location:

1008 Diane Avenue, Oak Harbor, WA 98277, US

Mission Statement

Through an international network of Affiliates, I Support the Girls (ISTG) collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women and folx experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity.

Description

Being an Affiliate of this amazing organization helping women and girls in distress, for whatever reason, has been the most rewarding experience one could ever hope to have. We fill a need, break stigma barriers, educate and enlighten people about menstrual health and how it impacts so many areas of our lives. By collecting donations of ladies undergarments, menstrual hygiene products and toiletries, we make a difference and help provide dignity to many women and girls in need. Our efforts help provide dignity, self-respect and better health and sometimes that is all it takes to help get people off the streets and to become productive members of society.
